Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area lies in Nevada’s Mojave Desert. It’s known for geological features such as towering red sandstone peaks and the Keystone Thrust Fault.

*The drive will be about 1-hour roundtrip, and depending on what you want to do in the park, plan for at least 3 hours away from the strip.
*I recommend going early to beat the heat and the crowds. Most people go late morning to early afternoon. The parking and trails get crowded.
*Red Rock Canyon has become a reservation-only national park. Specific time slots are available to book up to 30 days in advance and are $15 per car. If you have a National Parks pass, there is just a $2 convenience booking fee.
*A gas station is located right off the freeway before you enter the Las Vegas Blvd entrance.
Make a stop if you need water/drinks, a snack, or to use the restroom.
*Wear hiking attire.
Renting a car is recommended.
